Videos of plenary presentations and discussions from the Southern Ocean Observing System’s Seeing Below the Ice Workshop, held from the 22-25 October, 2012 in Hobart, Australia, are now available. The goal of the workshop was to develop a strategy for sustained observations of the Antarctic sea-ice zone and observe environmental and ecosystem shifts caused by a warming global ocean, while drawing on the expertise of Arctic research, to shed light on a significant science blind spot – how quickly is the sub-ice ocean warming?
