In 2021 CliC launched its first call for Grants and Fellowships (G&F). The purpose was to increase the engagement of Early Career Scientist (ECR) in CliC activities as well as to promote participation of scientists from regions currently under represented in CliC, i.e., South America, Asia and Africa. Applicants for for CliC F&G should address the project´s new vision and objectives as described in the CliC Strategic Plan 2022-2031.

The total budget available for the 2021 call was 48 000 Swiss francs (CHF).

By the deadline 31 January 2022, a total 48 applications were received from 26 countries. Statistics on career stage, geographical and gender distribution are shown below.

AWARDEES

Members of the CliC Scientific Steering Committee evaluated the applications according to the following criteria: research excellency, career stage, target CliC new objectives, geographical distribution and gender diversity. The committee then selected 4 projects: two for grants and two for fellowships. The awardees and project titles are shown below. The projects will be carried out and terminated in 2022.
