WCRP is pleased to share an open call for participation in the Robust Information Working Group and its associated Task Teams, under the WCRP Regional Information for Society (RIfS) Core Project.

This initiative seeks to explore and define what it means for a scientific product to be “robust,” and what processes are needed to generate and apply robust climate change information to support informed, context-specific decision-making.

The group and task teams will work to:

  • Identify attributes of robustness in climate information
  • Define processes for generating and applying this information
  • Recommend changes to our communities of practice, institutions, and structures to enable more robust climate information for decision-making

We welcome applications for the following:

  • Working Group – Coordinating body (open to applications)
  • Task Team on “Robust Information in Context” – Open to applications
  • Task Team on “Attributes of Robust Information” – Open to applications
  • Planned Task Teams on “Ethics, Values, and Transparency” and on “Climate Literacy” – Open to expressions of interest

We strongly encourage applications from:

  • Early to mid-career researchers
  • Women and other underrepresented groups in climate science
  • Scientists living and working in all regions of the world

CliC encourages interested cryospheric scientists to apply in the interest of strengthening cooperation between CliC and RIfS and ensuring the cryosphere is well represented in this activity.
