CliC is pleased to share our 2026 Community Survey, open for submissions now.
About the survey
In the interest of not taking too much time away from everyone’s busy schedules, all of the questions are optional. Feel free to contribute as much or as little as you wish. See below for background and context.
Background and context
The small and efficient CliC International Project Office (IPO) has a thirty-year history supporting the international cryosphere research community. For more than two decades, the office was hosted by Norway. Following a period of uncertainty, the IPO relocated to the University of Massachusetts Amherst with support from NSF and NASA.

CliC is now preparing a five-year IPO renewal proposal for 2027-2032. This time period will be of particular importance to the cryospheric research community for several reasons, including: the rapidly changing state of the cryosphere, the UN Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences (2025-2034), and the lead up to the Fifth International Polar Year (2032-33).

Keeping in mind that the proposal is for support to the International Project Office, not the scientific direction and research which is laid out in the Strategic Plan (2025-34) or financial support for CliC working groups, which is provided by the WMO, the international CliC community is invited to provide any thoughts or recommendations that might inform the proposal to, and decision regarding, extension of NASA and NSF support for the CliC International Project Office at UMass Amherst.
Thank you for participating! ❄️
