IP3, ‘Improved Processes and Parameterization for Prediction in Cold Regions’, operated from 2006 to 2011 as a research network with a prime objective of improving understanding of cold regions hydrometeorology. The project conducted wide-ranging studies of surface-water and weather systems, based on field investigations in Canada’s Rocky Mountains and the Western Arctic, with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of a suite of operational software models. IP3 was also featured in the June 2009 CliC Newsletter. For more information on the results of this project, visit their website: http://www.usask.ca/ip3/ where you can find
