New CliC Administrative Officer

The Norwegian Polar Institute has hired Heidi Isaksen as the new CliC administrative officer.

Isaksen is a Tromsø native, and has ’ice in her veins’ as well as in her name. She is a French teacher by training, and has published in the field of French theory and literature. During the IPY, Heidi became interested in environmental issues and moved to a more administrative career path through her work planning the IPY Gas, Arctic Peoples, and Security (GAPS) Project Conference at the University of Tromsø and working administratively with many other research projects. She has experience helping people from different fields of science collaborate better and looks forward to the interdisciplinary work within the cryosphere community. She has a keen interest in communicating science and looks forward helping increase our understanding of the changes in the cryosphere. Please join in welcoming Heidi to the CliC-ers 🙂
