The Working Group on Seasonal to Interannual Prediction (WGSIP), in collaboration with the Centro de Investigaciones del Mar y la Atmósfera (CIMA) announce the availability of the CHFP dataset of seasonal hindcasts from leading seasonal forecast centres worldwide for research use. The CHFP database consists of data from retrospective predictions of the seasonal climate from year to year across recent decades and is available from the website below.
The database currently contains data from 13 systems and will continue to grow over coming years to serve as a quantitative record of progress in global seasonal forecasting capability.
The research community is encouraged to take advantage of this new and growing resource in their studies of the seasonal predictability of global climate in parallel to the CMIP database for longer term climate studies.
