AGU Session for Projects Working on International Climate Literacy

Are you involved in current climate change or global change Education Outreach projects that connect people nationally or across borders internationally? Do you know of such programs in your country? If so, you are invited and encouraged to submit an abstract by 6 August 2013 to the AGU session titled: ED011 Climate Literacy: International Climate Education Activities, convened by CliC’s Director Jenny Baeseman and colleagues Louise Huffman, Rhian Salmon, Art Sussman.

Session Summary: Climate change is an urgent global concern requiring informed decisions both for mitigation and adaptation. We can all learn from K-16 and informal education and outreach (EO) programs and activities that are occurring internationally. Other countries have a variety of climate change realities as well as mitigation and adaptation strategies that differ from and also mirror the situation in the USA. EO is vital to building public understanding of global change. This session welcomes presentations on activities based in one country or more than one country. Of particular interest are education and outreach activities that connect people across borders in ways that enhance climate education in the different participating countries.
