AFS Scientific Co-Leads Meeting - May14

A small meeting with the Arctic Freshwater Synthesis component leads and co-leads will be held from 4-6 May, in Stockholm, Sweden.

This meeting will build on previous discussions and develop plans for the next steps including writing team selection, cross-cutting topics, and more. Travel support for the members will be provided by IASC for this meeting.

How to get there from Arlanda Airport

Taxi
Wait for a taxi at the taxi rank sign outside the arrivals hall. Make sure you ask for the price in advance (it should be between SEK 475 and SEK 625 for a trip to central Stockholm). The trip to the hotel will take around 30-40 minutes.
 
Arlanda Express
The Arlanda Express train takes you to Stockholm’s Central Station in 20 minutes. One-way fare SEK 260, return SEK 490. There are departures about every 10 minutes during rush hour. For further information, please see www.arlandaexpress.com The Arlanda Express is signposted from the arrivals hall at Arlanda.
 
Airport bus
The airport bus departs from outside the arrivals hall every 10 minutes during rush hour. One-way fare SEK 99, return SEK 198. For further information, please see www.flygbussarna.se. The trip to Stockholm by bus takes around 40 minutes.

From Stockholm Central Station to Scandic Hasselbacken

By tram: Walk ~500 meters from the Central station to Sergels Torg, then take tram number 7 to Skansen. The Journey takes approximately 10 minutes.

Step by step to Sergels torg: Head northeast on Vasaplan toward Vasagatan - continue onto Bryggargatan – turn right onto Klara Norra kyrkogata – turn left onto Klarabergsgatan – continue on to Sergels Torg

By taxi: From Stockholm Central Station, taxis are available to take you directly to Scandic Hasselbacken hotel. The journey usually takes 10 minutes from the station to the hotel.

The easiest way to get to the Swedish Polar Secretariat is to walk (5 min). Head south on Hazeliusbacken toward Djurgårdsvägen – turn left onto Djurgårdsvägen – turn right onto af Pontins väg – destination will be on the right (House 4)
